Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session focuses on getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brings you to counselling, what you hope to change, and any concerns you may have. You don’t need to prepare anything. The pace is entirely yours. If you want to explore first session expectations, we can go deeper.

How often will we meet?

Most clients attend weekly, especially at the beginning. Some move to fortnightly once they feel more stable. I will help you decide what frequency best supports your goals. You can explore therapy scheduling if you want more detail.

What issues can counselling help with?

Counselling can support a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, self-esteem, and life transitions. It’s also a space for personal growth, not just crisis.

What if I don’t know what to talk about?

That’s okay. I will help you explore what’s going on, even if you’re not sure where to begin. Silence is also welcome in therapy. If you want ideas for starting therapy conversations, I can help.

Can I end counselling at any time?

Yes. You’re free to stop whenever you choose. Many clients find it helpful to have a planned ending session to reflect and close the process. If you want to explore ending therapy safely, I can help.
